The highest point of this entire chapter is verse 13 where even Yeshua has his blood poured out on the ground as is his fate- and we should go outside the gate, outside of the barracks and share his rejection with him.

ReplyDeleteYou might have the view that what I write is merely my personal opinion- No! The key innovation is to take the primary rather than secondary and then find the best that fits that concept for that word. I am transalting words-And form- not attempting in any way to put in some personal meaning.
That is the key difference here!
Luther- Was giving in Koin/Everyday German the best he could out of St Jerome's Latin. And St Jerome is the very best translator of the bible in terms of having the best understanding of Greek and Hebrew/Aramaic.
But there in lies the problem:
Motive- He was out to establish a new religion independant of Jews and his transaltion does that- by twisting Greek to take later 2/3rd century developing concepts as primary and other tricks which Jeremiah complains about(Jermeiah 8:8) So here are brand new ideas about God- Major Major shifts in the conceptual foundation of our religion, new things that have never been written nor thought in a formal written way about God.
Is this 'Catholic-Correct'?
Well as one rejecting the views of my Brethren elder John Nelson Darby I reject his breaking up the Brethren movement by insisting on a Catholic/correct view of the bible.
If someone wants to believe in UFOs and Aliens and finds comfort in that belief from the bible- God bless my brother or sister, eating meat or not will not come in the way of our being joined together.
The test then of these 'New' words which change our religion at this theoretical level is what Jeremeish predicts in Jeremiah 31 which is part of the text of this letter- confirmed independantly by John 1 John 2:26/27 which you can see is John looking forward to the time when the church has little or no contact at all with any part of the Hebrew Torah/tradition.

His negative response to young men like my father who had a passion and zeal for God and the bible (Baptist/Brethren) and whom God had baptised in the Holy Spirit brough by 1964 a curse down on and destroyed the then live concept of " biblical evangalicalism". People had to vacate those anti pentecostal institutions and move persecuted somewhere else.
The growing out of that (See Professor P Lynham's 1982 CBRF paper 'Tongues shall cease' for the typical details of who did what etc) the most talented and biblically trained of these young men like Muri Thompson or in California Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel- they despite the persecution di see revival in the years 1971-74. That period ending with tow documents you can study- David Wilkerson's Jesus Person Maturity Manuel and The Vision. The fall of the Californian President Richard Millhouse Nixon was in the failure of an world empire to repent as in Oct that year oil came under middle eastern control- ensured that the last 40 years have been actually for Western Christianity pretty horrible. And things now are gonna change!
